The PLOs of UPEL includes attitude, knowledge, as well as general and specific skills. Multidisciplinary thinking is required to achieve those PLOs, specifically in the field of general knowledge (LO1), information and communication technology (LO2), public relations (LO3), educational science (LO4), and economics (LO7). In order to implement the multidisciplinary thinking, UPEL provides interdisciplinary courses embedded in the compulsory and elective courses. The scopes of multidisciplinary fields are shown in Figure below
UPEL Multidisciplinary Fields
The interdisciplinary field containing the most number of courses is the communication science field. It contains seven courses which are classified as both compulsory and elective courses. Students choose the elective courses based on their interests. To ensure the achievement of PLOs, UPEL implements student centred learning methods including problem-based and blended learnings.
