KOOD Introduces Depok’s Native Language to Millennials
On May 20 2023, the Association of Depok People or Kumpulan Orang-Orang Depok (KOOD) held a discussion on the Depok Language dictionary with universities, school principals, teachers, and literacy activists, who are the millennial generation at the Depok Eid event. In this event, lecturer of the Faculty of Letters and Cultures, Dr. Ahmad Juma Khatib Nur Ali, was one of the speakers.
The head of KOOD, Ahmad Dahlan explained, the purpose of this book review is to reintroduce the everyday language of the native Depok residents that has existed since old times to today’s society, so that the native language of Depok can continue to be sustainable. Chairperson of the Depok City Reading Ambassador Association, Sativa Trimaraeni said, by holding a book review of the Depok Language Dictionary, it can broaden the horizons of people who are now starting to not recognize the native language.
