International Conference in Social Sciences and Humanities (ICOSAH) VI held by AID Academy in cooperation with Universitas Gunadarma
On 29 September 2022, AID Academy in cooperation with Universitas Gunadarma held the International Conference in Social Sciences and Humanities or ICOSAH VI. There are 2 (two) speakers in this conference. From Universitas Gunadarma, there is DR. Agung Prasetyo Wibowo, S. S., M. Sas. and TS. DR. Mohd Saipuddin Bin Suliman (M.I.L.T) from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. This conference invites papers from various fields in sciences, humanities and social sciences. The primary goal of the conference is to provide the opportunities for academicians, professionals, practitioners and policy makers in these fields to share their thoughts and empirical works both to those involved in their field or those interested in the subject being researched.
DR. Agung shared his research entitled “Questioning the Status of Video Game Translation as Specialized Translation: A Linguistic Perspective”. This study intends to indicate how translation techniques, which are not specifically formulated for video game translation, are applicable for video game translation analysis in regard to the relationship between selected techniques and the translation quality. While DR. TS. DR. Mohd Saipuddin shared his research entitled Research Issues in the Humanities and Social Sciences in Malaysia: Challenges and Opportunities. This paper focuses on the issues encountered in the field of social sciences and humanities, namely policy making, research and development as well as innovation. It is also set out to examine challenges faced by researchers in the field of social sciences and humanities, such as difficulties in obtaining sponsorship and research grants, lack of interest among youth and lack of media exposure.
