English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University participated in the meeting of ESAI held on 06 February 2026. The annual meeting was held in Universitas Gajah Mada, Yogyakarta, Central Java. Our department was represented by Dr. Rita Sutjiati Djohan, the Director of English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University who also becomes one of the members of ESAI commitee in corporation division.

The Activity of Students in @America

The students of English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University visited @America in the Pacific Mall on 08 November 2025. This activity served as an opportunity for students to learn more speaking fluently and vocabularies. Our activity @America was permitted by Dr. Rita Sutjiati Djohan, the Director of English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University.

The annual meeting was held in Universitas 17 Agustus 1945, Surabaya, East Java. Our department was represented by Dr. Rita Sutjiati Djohan, the Director of English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University.

Workshop: Drama from Scratch

The Theater Laboratory of Universitas Gunadarma held a workshop entitled “Drama: From Scratch” on October 20, 2025. The workshop was held Offline at Universitas Gunadarma, Campus D. The workshop invited Peri Sandi Huizche, who is known in Indonesia as a lecturer, a poet, a poetry reader, and a content creator. This workshop served as an opportunity for students to learn more about drama.

English Literature Deparment of Gunadarma University hosted the second national seminar ‘Sebayapar’ held by the Faculty of Letters and Cultures of Universitas Gunadarma.  The seminar was held on on September 3rd, 2025, in Auditorium room, Campus F6 building, Universitas Gunadarma. 

For the second seminar, the theme is about literature, language, and tourism in the era of technology with Prof. Tri Kuntoro Priyambodo, M.Sc. (from Universitas Gajah Mada), Feri Ansori, M.Ed. (from Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia), and Dr. Devi Hellystia (from Universitas Gunadarma) as the keynote speakers. As an annual event, Sebayapar opens up opportunities for students from universities in Indonesia to share their scientific research free of charge.

 

 

 

 

Annual English Competition 2025

English Department of the Faculty of Letters & Cultures, Universitas Gunadarma held an Annual English Competition on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. The competition was held on 6th floor of Campus D, Universitas Gunadarma. The participants were students from various faculties of Universitas Gunadarma and students from several high schools in Greater Jakarta. The theme of this year’s competition was “Building Career in the Era of AI”.

There were three contests offered in the competition: speech, poetry reading, and story telling contest. The winners of each of the contests were awarded with prizes, medals, and certificates. All participants were also given certificates as an appreciation for their participation in the competition.

The competition also showcased some musical performances by students of the Faculty of Letters & Cultures, Universitas Gunadarma. Since it was first held, this Annual English Competition has become a wonderful opportunity for students to show and enhance their interpersonal and English skills. 

Collaboration of Gunadarma University, Indonesia and Kokand University, Uzbekistan

Gunadarma University, Indonesia collaborates with Kokand University, Uzbekistan. The collaboration is marked by the signing of Letter of Intent by the two universities held on 23 January 2025. The collaboration also produces an international seminar with the topic about International Summer Course Experience and Culture Day held on the same day in Gunadarma F8 Auditorium.

The Faculty of Letters and Cultures of Gunadarma University, along with other faculties of Gunadarma University, takes part in the collaboration with Kokand University. The director of English Literature Department, Gunadarma University also participates in welcoming some delegators from Kokand University in Campus E, Gunadarma University.

English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University participated in the 6th national congress of ESAI held on 29-31 October 2024. The annual congress was held in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. Our department was represented by Dr. Rita Sutjiati Djohan, the Director of English Literature Department of The Faculty of Letters & Culture, Gunadarma University.
